How it all Began ....... At a BBQ having had one or two glasses of falling down water discussing our ‘Bucket Lists’ I heard myself say, ‘I have always fancied doing something from John O’Groats to Lands End, and the obvious choice would be to do it with my new ponies and a carriage.’ This was rapidly followed up by my good friend Janey saying ‘if you do this will you do it for the Teenage Cancer Trust ?’ ‘Of course I will’ say I.
A few days later it dawned on us what had occurred and we really started to think on about it and decided that it would be quite something to do. One pony was driving the other still had to go to be broken to harness and then I decided we ought to get a third string to our bow, so went back to get another pony from the same place, but he is 1 year younger than the other two, so a year behind in his training.
By talking constantly about the project with family, friends and just about anyone we meet, the ideas are growing. The only dampener we had was Kevin, Janey’s husband saying it will cost us a lot of money to do this.
So the next ideas were about how we could raise funds to do it. Thus the supper club idea was formed, because we felt while we were asking for money we were actually giving something for it.
This was our good friend Shirley May’s idea, who is intending to come on the trip with us.
We intend to do this trip starting at Easter 2012.
